WIZO’s “Light up in Red Campaign”

As part of WIZO’s nationwide campaign to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, public buildings and monuments around Israel were illuminated in red to highlight the issue of gender-based violence.

Dozens of Municipal and local government buildings, Jerusalem’s String Bridge, the Israel Electric power station and many others were emblazoned with the slogan “Enough Violence!” in solidarity with women victims of violence.

WIZO welcomes the support of local government ministers who embraced this project, particularly in these unprecedented days of COVID-19, economic insecurities and enforced lockdowns that have intensified the problem dramatically.
