WIZO USA Seminar

On September 6, 2011, WIZO Florida held its WIZO USA Seminar, in the prse nce of World WIZO Chairperson, Tova Ben Dov, WIZO USA President Jana Falic, Vicepresidents Rosita REtelny, Anita Friedman, Chairperson of WIZO Mexico, Mrs. Motola, Sofie Abbo, WIZO USA Treasurer and of course our dear Vicepresidents Lillian Tabacinic and Ruthy Benoliel, alongside our Treasurer Golda Retchiman.

Approximatedly 40 chaverot agreed to spend a day with us learning about WIZO, its behind the scenes in Israel, the financial projection for the years to come and a wonderful dose of optimism and enthusiasm from the exquisite variety of speakers, both ours and from the community. Judit Groisman strarted with a presentation about Organization followed by Jana Falic's presentation of World Chairperson Tova ben Bov. Not an eye remained dry as she explained with love and detail the situation of so many chidlren our care in Eretz Israel. Stories of triumph and stories of loss. Rusjh Lowe, a suprise speaker brought by Jana Falic lent a tone of spirituality and elevation to the Conference as he related to us his personal struggles with life and judaism. Andrea Jamal contributed with her academic review of the basic elements that conform a volunteer and a leader. She brought along a splendid idea: members of all the Boards should sign a Volunteer's Agreement where they promise to attend all the meeting of their Chapters and definitively this Annual Seminar. A splendid luncheon prepared by the chaverot was served on the beautiful premises and the afternoon continued with in-depth presentations by Margie Szerer. Membership Chair and Ruthy Benoliel and Lillian Tabacinic. Finally, Goldie Retchiman gave an amazing Treasury Presentation that took everyone by surprise with its humour and professional preparation. By 3pm, with a room almost empty, WIZO USA President Jana Falic gave an improptu presentation about the story of the Jewish People in 40 minutes. Imagine! Her speed, knowledge and styly were mesmerizing. So much so, that we decided to create a special event

JEWISH HISTORY IN A WINK by Jana Falic this coming 6th of October at the request of all those who left early but heard about it. Please call the office for further details.

In conclusion, everyone left in high spirits, wishing to work harder and certain to come back next year for more food for the heart and soul. Thank you for being part of the WIZO USA Seminar.
