Children's Rocket-Proof Shelters Emergency Campaign
Dear friends:
We received a harsh reminder that Israel's physical safety and security remain top priority. The painful and familiar sounds of sirens and scenes of destruction dominate the lives our brothers and sisters in Israel yet again. Residents in Sderot, Otef Aza, Beer Sheva, Ashdod and Ashkelon are once more required to stay inside near protected areas.
A barrage of rockets and mortars fired into southern Israel in a four-day escalation of violence sparked by one of the worst terrorist attacks on Israel in years. So far, 8 Israelis were killed and dozens were wounded. World WIZO bows its head to honor the memory of those killed, wishes for the speedy recovery of the casualties and prays that G-d watch over them and keep Israel's Southern region and the soldiers of the IDF safe.
We have to seriously address the subject of the shelters in our Day Care Centers. WIZO must provide children with secure settings upgraded according to the increasingly more lethal rocket attacks. THE TIME IS NOW.
